     बारिश के मौसम में बारिश की एक अदभुत जानकारी पढ़े।

    कुछ गर्म जगह पर बारिशें ऐसी भी होती जो बादलों से गिरती तो है मगर जमीन तक पहुँचती नही है, जी हाँ जमीन तक पहुचने से पहले ही बारिश की बूंदे गायब हो जाती है। इसी वजह से अंग्रेजी में इसे *फैंटम रैन*  (PHANTOM RAIN) कहते है। फैंटम का मतलब आभासी या मायावी  होता है। जानते है ये आभासी ओर मायावी बरसात के पीछे का कारण क्या है?

          पानी से भरे बादलों की बूंदे छोटे छोटे आइस क्रिस्टल (हिम स्फटिक) (ice crystal) के आकार में होती है। जब इस क्रिस्टल का वजन ज्यादा होता है तो वो क्रिस्टल  जमीन पर गिरना सुरु हो जाती है। लेकिन जैसे जैसे आइस क्रिस्टल नीचे गिरती जाती है वैसे वैसे पृथ्वी के तापमान की वजह से आइस क्रिस्टल पानी की बूंदों में बदल जाती है और धीरे धीरे वो बूंदे बाष्पिभवन (evaporation) की वजह से छोटी होती जाती है। आखिर में जमीन तक पहुँचने से पहले पूरी बूंद पृथ्वी के वातावरण में बाष्प (evaporate) हो जाती है और अचानक ही गायब हो जाने की वजह से इसे मायावी बरसात (phantom rain) कहते है।

          आसमान से पतन (गिरने) के वक़्त एक बूंद एवरेज 1000 माइक्रोन की होती है जो धीरे धीरे 500 से 250 ओर 250 से कम होती हुई 62.5 माइक्रोन की रह जाती है। इस के बाद पूरी बाष्पिभवन (exhale) हो जाती है और जमीन तक पहुँच ही नही पाती। हवामान शास्त्र ने इसे VIRGA RAIN का लेबल दिया है। *VIRGA*  को  *वर्गा* पढ़े (प्रोनोउंस)  जिसका मतलब a mass of streaks of rain appearing to hang under a cloud and evaporating before reaching the ground होता है।

     In some hot places, the rains are such that they fall from the clouds but do not reach the ground, yes, the raindrops disappear before they reach the ground. This is why in English it is called * PHANTOM RAIN *. Phantom means virtual or elusive. Do you know the reason behind this virtual and elusive rain?

           Drops of clouds filled with water are in the shape of small ice crystals. When the weight of this crystal is high then that crystal starts falling on the ground. But as the ice crystals fall down, the ice crystals turn into water droplets due to the temperature of the earth and gradually those droplets get smaller due to evaporation. Before finally reaching the ground, the whole drop evaporates in the earth's atmosphere and due to its sudden disappearance, it is called phantom rain.

           At the time of falling from the sky, one drop averages 1000 microns which gradually decreases from 500 to 250 and 250 to 62.5 microns. After this the whole evaporates and does not reach the ground. Meteorology has labeled it VIRGA RAIN. Read * VIRGA * as * class * (pronouns) which means a mass of streaks of rain appearing to hang under a cloud and evaporating before reaching the ground.
